Using the "ENDERS BABY" petrol cooking stove No.9063
Setting up
- Take the stove out of its case and set it up so that the petrol container stand outside the case and the burner inside.
Filling
- Unscrew the filling plug and in its place screw on the funnel ( which automatically gives the right filling level ).
- Fill with clean petrol.
- Remove funnel and replace plug, screwing it down tightly,then keep away from naked lights.
Preheating
- Fill the preheating cup two-thirds full methylated spirit, or by slightly opening the regulator and giving a few strokes on the pump, with petrol.
Preheating old
- Place the tin cylinder ( preheating aid ) on the burner so that the slot in it fits over the regulating rod.
- Lay the pot supports on the case.
- Light the spirit or petrol in the preheating cup.
- Operate the pressure pump until sufficient resistance is felt.
Lighting the stove
- Before the contents of the worming bowl have burnt out, turn the regulating rod to the left and the burner will light up.
- Apply the match or litter if necessary.
Regulating the flame
- For the hot flame, turn the regulating rod to the left.
- For fine adjustment, turn the rod slowly to the right.
- For extinguishing the flame, turn the rod of the right until it reaches the stop.
- Important*** In time the regulating key will get hot, it should therefore be attached only when it is required.
- Take the burner out of the case, remove the preheating aid.
- After replacing the stove in the outer case the preheating aid will fit in between the container and burner.
Important
- The stove must be used inside the case and it must not be left too long unattended.
- Use Gasoline, Petrol only, any other fuel mixed petrol may hinder the operation of the stove.
Defects and their remedies
Just stopped up
- Revealed by lack of gas or irregular and yellow flame.
- REMEDY***** Take off the preheating aid with the universal spanner and clean out the jet with the pricker. Screw in a new jet if necessary.
Leaks
- Revealed by flame diminishing in spite of energetic pumping.
- REMEDIES***** a). Tighten filling plug (with larger spanner hexagon)
- b). Tighten pump connection (with spanner).
- c). Tighten reg-rod cap nut: for detects --a) and b) new washer may be necessary.
Regulating device leaking
- Revealed by flames or drops at regulating rod extension (not dangerous).
- REMEDY***** Tighten cap nut or, after some period of use, have the stuffing gland changed.
- Revealed by lack of resistance when pumping.
- REMEDY***** Take out the pump plunger and sleep the pump leather in suitable oil or exchange it for a new one
- When inserting the pump leather, see that it is not creased.
- Although it gives off gas--cause: unsuitable fuel.
- REMEDY***** Remove filling plug, pour the fuel, rinse the tank with petrol and refill half with clean petrol.
- Replace plug, pump, with regulating valve open, to pass the petrol through connection and jet.
